Frequently Asked Questions

Firstly, please make sure you allow Genda access to your phone’s contacts to enable synchronization and that your contacts’ phone numbers are written in international format (+ country code).

Only your contacts who are registered on Genda are displayed on your Genda contact list. To add a contact, tap on the add group/contact icon on the top right corner of the Contacts page and tap the “Add Contact” button.

You can also tap on “Tell a Friend” in the Contacts or Settings pages to tell your friends about Genda!

To prevent overcrowding, chatrooms of an Event are displayed on the Chats page only after a participant sends a message or when a host decides to edit the Event Info of an event.

To create or start a chat, go to the Event Info page of an existing event and tap on the Chat button at the bottom of the page.

At the moment, this is not possible since Genda limits your account to only be used at one device at a time.

You can change the number associated to your account by:

  1. Go to the Settings page
  2. Tap the ‘Account’ button
  3. Tap on ‘Change number’
  4. Enter your old and new phone numbers
  5. An SMS verification code will be sent to your new phone number

The ‘Pin Event’ function allows you to save certain events so you can quickly refer to them in the future. You can access your list of Pinned Events from the Settings page.

The My Groups tab displays the pre-set groups of contacts you’ve created so you can easily invite them to events.

To create a group, tap on the add group/contact icon on the top right corner of the Contacts page and tap the “Add Group” button.

The groups you create (its titles and participants) are only visible to you.

Genda does not collect payments from your registration or usage of the app.

Genda relies on your device’s internet connection (cellular or Wi Fi), as available, to send/receive information to other users. You do not have to pay for every invite/message/multimedia/file you send or receive as long as you do not exceed your data quota or use a free Wi Fi connection. Please check with your service provider as to what your quota limitations are.

Genda currently allows you to import your existing events from your Facebook, Google, iCalendar and Outlook accounts. You can do so by:

  1. Go to the Settings page
  2. Tap the ‘Calendar’ button
  3. Select the account you wish to import and follow the log in steps

Important Notice:

  • Participants and certain event information may not be imported along with your events.
  • Imported events are non-reversible, meaning you would have to delete imported events individually.
  • Please avoid importing a certain account multiple times as it may create event duplicates on Genda.

You can delete your Genda account by:

  1. Go to the Settings page
  2. Tap the ‘Account’ button
  3. Tap ‘Delete Account’

Please note that deleting your account will delete your events and chats history as well as remove you from all existing events and chats.
